A Community of Small Businesses Purposed to Provide Refuge, Recovery, and Restoration to Women in Environments of Oppression
Everything from apples to zucchini, a barn to the chicks inside it, The Farm, Vineyard and Orchard will help sustain life and be the economic backbone of each outreach entity. Not only will they provide food for those working within the outreach but, they will also be a place where the women of our outreach can find a place of worth and contribution. Food and livestock raised will provide proper nutrition for the women and could end up providing a profession for restored women. The food produced will be the foundation all our efforts rest upon.
Where else would our food and passion for it be shared with the locals than a loving place of hospitality and service. Determinate on the needs and demand of the local community our food will be prepared and sold in the midst’s of a creative space echoing our admiration for the simpler way of life. From espresso to fine dining our culinary and artistic business will serve the community and its visitors providing more than just income but, a place our adopted can be restored when ready to meet the world again.
Tiny Home Village/Hostel
A space of refuge on or in near proximity to the other businesses, the Hostel will be used three fold. First, as an initial home for those we adopt. This housing will enable them to be restored in relationship and become a restoration head-quarter for their new lives. Second, The Hostel will serve as a destination for travelers. This will bring in income and hopefully wayward volunteers! Lastly, the hostel would be used as a “Harvest Haven”. During harvests we would convert the Hostel into a short-term harvest hotel. People from all over the world would come to help harvest the bounty and be living instruments of service. A unique way to bring others in relationship with our community co-op.
The heart of our outreach, the Pregnancy Care Home will be a living bridge from troubled lives to a warm, loving, equipped home of repair and recovery. It will provide women from abusive or unjust circumstances a safe place to be physically repaired and raise their babies from pre-term to post birth. With care from doulas, expert midwives, local doctors and hospitals these women will bring their newest child into a new beginning. The Center will also provide basic health care to those who are in need.
Therapeutic Craft and Art Studio
A fundamental piece to the process, the Craft Studio will serve as a place of recovery for the women during and after their troubled season. Pottery, painting, glass blowing, music and more will serve as tools in the recovery process. Within this therapeutic environment we hope to bring peace to our adoptee’s mind, body and soul. This will be aided by encouraging alternative productive outlets which we hope will invoke the change they desire. The artists we find can, in turn, create unique items we can sell or tools for use in the other entities.
As one can imagine children of all ages will be a part of this project. From the previous children of the women we adopt to our very own, there will be a need to educate. Focused on an education built on the building blocks of creativity, sustainability, the environment, local organic food and community our students will never be left behind. Run by the teachers in our midst we will provide our children with the education needed to make their dreams a reality. This education will not only be provided to the children but also to the women who desire higher education. The School will no doubt become a desired local service attracting other families to this massive undertaking and provide income and employment eventually making the project self sustaining.
